I had the pleasure of meeting Rich Cameron, Founder of Carson Optical, at the 2012 SHOT SHOW in Las Vegas. Not only is he wicked smart but has an pretty amazing product in his 3D and ED Binocular line. They were so sharp and detailed, and at the $250 -$310 price point, really a binocular to seriously look at if in the market for new deer hunting glasses. And that’s saying a lot since I’ve been really happy with my Steiner Night Hunter Binoculars for over 10 years. The Carson 3D w/ ED glass binoculars are that good.
Is crossbow hunting catching on? Are there sales outpacing vertical bows? Well, at the 2012 SHOT SHOW, there seemed to be a good amount of interest in them. I met with Adam Trieschmann from Carbon Express who shared some of their industry observations as well as their new crossbow line.

SHOT Show 2012 had an infinite amount of new gear and companies to drool over. Yet, the best thing about SHOT Show for me was the people.
Getting a chance to meet the folks you only have known virtually, whether via Twitter, Facebook, blogs or a forum, in person is priceless.
It adds a new level of connection to your initial online relationship.
At SHOT, I had a chance to meet some of the folks I’ve met on these social networks and believe it or not, missed many more due to the sheer size of the event.
