Having instant access to online hunting products at Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shops is very convenient. But there’s just something special about flipping through the pages of a print hunting catalog.

Maybe I’m old school, but I kinda miss doing that. Having the ability to dog ear pages with your favorite gear is empowering.

I remember ordering my first pieces of hunting gear through the Sportsman’s Guide many moons ago. I ordered what I thought were some great insulated hunting boots but really turned out to be crap. I can’t even remember their name. I did however get some other good stuff from them.

I ended up buying a pair of Sorel boots. I just can’t quite remember from where -catalog order or from a local shop in upstate New York.

Any who, It’ll be fun comparing Bass Pro Shops gear and Cabela’s gear, side by side in their catalogs.
