We’re getting up a bit late today. The boys are still hunkered down in their sleeping bags while I’m making some hot tea for everyone.
Two spots are on the agenda for today. One morning spot where were gonna double up along a funnel. Then it’s off north to Bellevue for some unreal perfect hunting conditions.

The Rut is so on. Seen 6 different bucks today. 8 does. 4 were chasing does. 2 bucks were doing some light sparring. The larger big bodied 8 point did some serious posturing. He finally bumped the 6 point out of the inside corner.
Off to a sweet spot tomorrow as the wind is forecast to be just right for that piece if land.
We had a crew of 3 hunters and two huntographers in the trees today. We all saw deer.
Lou had a huge fork, a spike and 8 does under his stand – all before 8am. 2 of those does are now in the back of the truck getting ready to get cut up.
Jesse and had a run by monster before 1st light under the tree. A nice 8 point ran across the cut bean field, a bit outside the ears.
Adam and I had a shooter 8 come in running at a 15 yards. He tried to stop him but he jetted through the swamp grass. Then another 7 point.
